Song Hints

The songs played on the radio portion of this game can also be categorized as mud, rock or shit, but not quite in the same way as the questions. Playlists will have each song labelled in one of the three categories, but after a slight delay. Use that time to work on your guesses!

Think of the songs as answers to questions no one asked. Except they can only be affirmatives. Let’s say the mystery word was rat. “Is it a vegetable?” would be a rock question, because even with a negatory as the response, it narrows down the answers to all non-vegetables. But the song “Vegetable Man” would be a muddy hint, because it would be pointing you in the wrong direction. Songs are almost like hot/cold hints in this way. The rock songs will lead you in the right direction.

Occasionally a song will do nothing; neither hurt nor help you. The title or lyrics could be absolute nonsense. The song could be a novelty. The song could be thoroughly grating to anyone but programmer Mike. These are the occasional pieces of shit on the playlist. This is not a value judgment; sometimes these are the best songs on the show that made it in despite being pointless to this crazy game.

About

This is a radio show and interactive game hosted by Mike Noble that currently airs Wednesdays at 5pm EDT on WHFR. On the first show, a random word was picked from the dictionary, and it is the listener’s duty to guess it. Songs are hints, and you can use this site to ask yes-no questions. Check out the pages linked to the right for more information. There will be a prize for the correct guess!

This show is available as a podcast.
